MY VALUES & MISSION

Entangling a manifold legacy to get to the roots of the family structure

When Jimmy Carter says, "we become not a melting pot but a beautiful mosaic. Different people, different beliefs, different yearnings, different hopes, different dreams," he may have been talking about Egizia. Egizia is a mosaic, a mélange of sparkling and glittering tiles, made up of men and women from all over. Town dwellers and farmers, barbers and merchants, protestants, jews and catholics, dreamers and realistists, pessimists and optimists, the brave and the hesitant, those full of hope and those left without.

It is my mission to search for these precious fragments,  these invaluable morsels, which, when pieced together will reveal the portrait of Egizia in all its splendour.

Family lore will lead me to the excavation sites, where the pieces of my family mosaic lie, covered by the dust of centuries, waiting to being restored to their former loveliness.

SEEING IS BELIEVING

I don't want to be blended by obscure family myths; instead, I prefer to focus on discovering the truth behind the tales. I recognise and respect the guidelines  set by law and common genealogical practice. I will attempt to verify the facts, but I am also aware, that some things will remain buried in the dark, when documents are missing or  unattainable.

FIGURING THE FACTS

I am not interested in collating data in order to create the "bigliest" tree ever. I am interested in the story behind the facts.

GIVE AND TAKE

I like to share but refuse to speculate. If you are related, I would like to invite you to become a part of the online Egizia clan. And I will be happy to contribute to your research if you would like to participate in mine.

PRIVACY POLICIES AND OTHER LEGAL STUFF

Ut in nulla enim. Phasellus molestie magna non est bibendum non nisl tempor.

We live in a day and age where digital identities are stolen, misused and where private data is used for profiling the user for advertising purposes. It is an age in which articles, photos or research papers are published without crediting the original source, giving the impression the work is one's own.

I don't want to be part of this.

I treasure my sources and am grateful to all contributors to my research efforts and my website. This is why I credit them.

I don't want private data - mine or yours -  to be used for profiling, so I collect only the data necessary for that particular purpose in compliance with Swiss and EU legislation.

And I like to be given credit for my work. This is why Ionly share with those who have a valid interest in my research and credit me for my efforts, as I do for theirs.

For this reason I have taken additional measures to prevent downloading photos or copying text on this website. If you would like a copy just ask. Thank you for understanding.

If I have cited sources incorrectly, forgotten to give you the due credit,  misquoted you, etc. please let me know, so that I can correct my mistake. I am only human, but I am willing to learn ...
